Today on this lovely Thursday, I am sharing my top 3 products that help me de-stress and why. Everyone feels high levels of stress at certain periods in their life, so having a few products to help you calm down should be a necessity. I just happen to include them in my daily routine as well! My Favorite De-Stress Products:
Magnesium is an amazing mineral that provides a TON of benefits to your body. The mineral helps regulate the nervous system and can help in preventing nervousness, stress and anxiety. So, if you are feeling more anxious or stressed than usual, you may be experiencing a magnesium deficiency. Research has shown that magnesium is absorbed more effectively through contact with the skin vs. an oral supplement, so I use my spray daily on my arms and bottoms of my feet. I had a wellness guru tell me once that putting essential oils/sprays on the bottom of your feet enter your bloodstream faster, so I’ve always done just that!
Magnesium also helps with sore/achy muscles and joints. Since I typically do HIIT type workouts, my muscles and joints need all the love they can get and I’ve seen a big difference in my body since using my magnesium spray daily. I also recently started drinking Natural Calm Magnesium Supplement once a day. GIVE ME ALL THE MAGNESIUM!
I have never been one to obsess over baths, but recently I have REALLY been into my Epsom salt baths. Did you guys know that Epsom salt isn’t actually made of salt? It’s a compound of magnesium and sulfate. So, in addition to the magnesium spray, Epsom salt baths are a great way to absorb much-needed magnesium into your skin.
Like I said earlier, my muscles and joints have been especially achy lately due to my workouts, so soaking my body in an Epsom salt bath has become a regular routine. I typically take one every other day. Tip: leave your phone in the other room, grab a book and relax your mind and body at the same time. WIN/WIN right there!
It’s considered the most common essential oil and a nervous system restorative. I have been using lavender oil for years now. I freak out at the sight of anything lavender scented; it’s my absolute favorite! I keep it on my bedside table and every night before bed (after my shower or Epsom salt bath) I put a few drops on my chest, arms and bottoms of feet. The smell of it will instantly bring you to a state of relaxation; at least it does for me! I honestly can’t go a night without it. I’ve been thinking about getting an oil diffuser for my bedroom and just keep lavender pumping through that baby all day/night long. Doesn’t that sound dreamy?!
